About Me
I first picked up a guitar when I was 11 years old and I have not put it down since. For 12 years, guitar has been a passion and an obsession of mine.
I was first interested in learning the guitar after hearing guitarists such as Mark Knopfler and Brian May play on my Dad’s CDs. I thought “I want to be able to do that”.
Aside from guitar, I am a competent drummer and bassist, also writing and recording band arrangements for my own songs. I mostly enjoy playing progressive, intricate styles of music, but I am no stranger to other genres as I believe the broader your playing styles, the more styles you have to draw on in your own playing. I teach all genres.
Some guitarists that have had a significant influence on my playing style include:
Jonathan Deily (Northlane)
Tosin Abasi (Animals as Leaders)
Misha Mansoor, Mark Holcomb, Jake Bowen (Periphery)
Richie Allan (Kora, Heavy Metal Ninjas)
John Frusciante (ex Red Hot Chilli Peppers)
Matt Bellamy (Muse)
José González
Old or young, the time to start playing guitar is now!
